The Guild Sphere: Valor

Sorry for the lack of guild interviews the last few month. But today we are back with a new interview, this time with the republic guild Valor is a RP/PVP guild active on the Ajunta Pall server. Currently the guild is looking for non 50’s who are looking to level up and do some PVP with them. They are a friendly and mature guild looking for members to fill out our roster and have some fun with.

They offer Ventrilo and Forums as well as RP sessions, a well organized group and once we hit 20 regular members they will start doing podcasts!

If you’re interested please go to the forums Valourcouncil.enjin.com and post an application in the apps thread. Checfk out the interview below:

Where did your guilds name come from?
We actually wanted to call it Omen from a guild I’d been in back in World of Warcraft, but that apparently was taken somewhere. So we talked 1 word names for awhile and one of our council members said “Valor” and we were all like “Yeah that sounds good.”

Can you give me a quick 2-3 sentance description of your guild?
Well <Valor> is an RP guild at it’s heart, we have Warzone Wednesdays where we all group up and do warzones and pvp together, and then we do Flashpoint Fridays where we all group up and do flashpoints together so it keeps us going and having fun. Above all else, above our RP and rank structure we are a mature group of friends and that’s the people we want.

How did your guild come about?
Well we started it because we got tired of the RP on the Imperial Side (we have a 50’s guild on the Imperial side of Ajunta Pall). We want to do endgame and raid content but we realized we needed more people, and we didn’t want to abandon our RP core so we decided to make a new one on the Republic side. So far it’s doing pretty well. Official Reddit RP guild Republic Side Ajunta Pall.

What kind of play style do you focus on? PvE, PvP, RP:
RP/PVE is really I guess where we fit in, but frankly we do it all. We’ll always do it all.

What is your guild set up? How do you run your guild?
I designed the rank structure with a very clear chain of command. It’s lead by a Council each Councillor has equal authority in the ruling of the guild. Council listens to it’s players we often have what we call “Open Council” meetings to discuss with all of our members the direction the guild is going and to listen to where they would like to see the guild go.

How serious do you play and/or run the guild?
I play just about everyday and I have put a lot into this guild. It’s getting successful now just because of the work I’ve put into it.

Do you have ranks or a certain hierarchy in your guild?
We do have a certain rank structure and hierarchy, it’s a little much to explain but basically we have several enlisted ranks, those that shine as dedicated to the guild as enlisted are promoted to NCO ranks that oversee the enlisted and keep the guild on track. We have Officers but the Officer ranks all report to the Council. Every now and then a member can be so dedicated, so good to the guild and generally put themselves into the guild so much that the council will vote and they can be added to the Council.

Why did you choose the Republic / the sith empire?
We were on the Imperial side, as I said before. But frankly the RP over there was very shallow and plain. Everyone was either a sexual deviant or a puppy kicker bad guy. We all felt that bad guys never believe they are truly bad guys and that the people we were Roleplaying with weren’t necessarily roleplaying wrong… It just wasn’t what we were looking for. So we went over to the Republic. Why do you run a guild?
Ha ha, actually I was just supposed to be a Council Member. They founded the guild and made me Guildmaster or as we say in the guild “Chairman of the Council” just so I could build the rank structure and guidelines and organization. After a day I was done and wanted to give up the rank but the rest of the council was like “Eh you stay there, you’re doing fine.”How do you approach Raid Planning?
We book all our group events on our forums (Valorcouncil.enjin.com) I believe in a resource for guilds like forums so we make a lot of use of it.

Are you always open for new recruits or do you want to keep a certain guild size?
Well I can’t tell what the future holds for us right now, but I’d say yes we’d always be willing to consider applications. Right now we’re a little Jedi Knight heavy though so we are talking about closing that recruitment.

Age Requirement?
18+ we all agree that we’d prefer to interact with and as, adults.

Guild size?
Currenlty a hard count of 42 members including alts. We are trying to push hard to have 20 members online at a time, right now we’re only at about 15 online at a time. So we’ll be recruiting regulars until we hit our target.

What makes your guild stand out from everyone else? What makes your guild unique?
Tough question. Everyone says they are mature, or Roleplayers, or great PVPers or something like that. I just think it’s the people. We have great people that are good friends. Guild wouldn’t be worth a damn without it’s people.

What Other Games are you currently playing as a guild? Some of us play ARMA 2 and League of Legends when we aren’t playing SWTOR. So the guild is a good place to get into those games too.

If somebody is interested now how and where can they apply for membership?
Valorcouncil.enjin.com Toss in an App on our website. Come with a Joke though, cause if I don’t like the joke on your app it’ll be a tough time for you.

One last question, if there was one thing you could ask the Dev’s to include, what would it be?
More empty rooms that can be co-opted for Roleplay. Everywhere seems packed full of npc’s or wandering randoms. We need some RP rooms.
