Disney to Pull Star Wars and Marvel Movies from Netflix

If you haven’t watched all the Star Wars and Marvel movies on Netflix, or if you just want to get your fix and watch them again, you better do it quickly! Disney has announced they will be pulling their Star Wars and Marvel films from Netflix because they’re starting their own streaming service (who saw that coming?). Starting in 2019, you’ll have to subscribe to Disney’s service if you want to see these. As of right now, Rogue One is on Netflix but Episode 7 is listed but says “unavailable”. So, if you want to get to see these on Netflix, you better start watching now before they’re gone forever. Of course, you can always subscribe to Disney’s streaming service once it comes out if you want to see all the Star Wars and Marvel films and I guess we can be thankful that at least they are giving us…

Star Wars: The Old Republic Netflix Series Petition Closes In On 200,000 Signatures

Remember when we told you how fans wanted Netflix to bring a Star Wars: The Old Republic series? Well, that petition has really been gaining traction since we last mentioned it. Now it’s closing in on 200,000 signatures and it’s not too late for you to get your signature in. They need fewer than 5,000 to meet their goal. If you want to see Disney agree to bring an Old-Republic-era Star Wars series to Netflix, then head on over, read it, and add your sig to the list. It only takes a minute and it’s really easy to do. Why The Old Republic? “The Old Republic era is a pivotal point in the Star Wars timeline because that’s where everything changed, from the Jedi Civil War and the fall of Revan, the First Jedi Purge, and an omnipresent darkness that not only watched the chaos from afar but also kick-started the downfall….

Rumored Star Wars Actors for New Netflix Show

Star Wars: The Old Republic is one of the best Star Wars games to date. You know we love it and we know our readers love it. Now what if there was a new show set in the Old Republic era? Netflix wants to bring us just that. Almost 200,000 fans have petitioned to Disney via Change.org for an “Old Republic Era” TV series and it seems like Disney is taking notice. According to the recent scoop from Hollywood Reporter, Ted Sarandos (Chief Content Officer) at Netflix had some initial talks on this subject with Disney. The rumor says there are even some great scripts they are going through to see if the series would be a good fit. It’s definitely something exciting that we plan to follow to see what happens with it. We still have no idea if it’s actually going to be a thing (here’s hoping) but Entertain-O-Rama has…

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Netflix TV Series Movement

What’s better than Star Wars on Netflix? What about The Old Republic era Star Wars on Netflix ? If you’re thinking that’s as awesome as we are, then you will want to watch this video because there’s a chance it might be happening. There’s a petition going around (find it here) and see why over 100,000 other people have already signed up to make this happen. From the petition: “Why Netflix was chosen was because of the wealth of great content they have produced over the years, such as Narcos, House of Cards, and especially everything that Marvel has done and is still currently working on.  Not only that, but Netflix can serve as a platform to tell these stories as they were meant to be portrayed: dark, foreboding, and a touch on the mature side.  This can also give us fans our healthy dose of Star Wars while we’re waiting on the new…

Multiple Live-Action Star Wars Shows to Arrive on Netflix?

It’s clear that Disney is going all-in with Star Wars: new movies, new books, new action figures and LEGO sets, and now . . . new TV shows? Back in March, Cinelinx discussed the possibility of Disney being in talks with Netflix for a live-action TV show. But the latest rumors suggest that there could be multiple shows in the works. The fact that Disney is producing standalone Star Wars movies might lend some credence to this rumor—they’re clearly interested in cinematically exploring the rest of the universe outside of the main Republic / Empire conflict that’s been the center of the series for so long. There have been discussions of a Star Wars TV show since 2005, after George Lucas announced that he had plans for a show that took place between the prequels and the original trilogy. By 2011, he said that he had 50 episodes written. And although a number of people have…

The Best April Fools’ Gag this Year

If you missed it the other day, you must see this trailer for Fury of Maul on Netflix. Really, if you weren’t already a Netflix lover, would this not make you subscribe immediately? “Happy April Fools’ Day! Darth Maul makes his live-action series debut on Netflix! A mysterious, dark power is butchering those on both the light and dark side of the Force.” Directed and Shot by Sean Finnegan Seriously, this looks awesome. If you didn’t know already, it was just an April Fool’s joke from IGN and that’s really too bad because it would make a great series. Star Wars fans everywhere can cry like that poor little boy who’s dad let him watch not knowing it was prank. May we all go to our beds and bawl our eyes out because this will never come to be. Honestly, April Fool’s pranks are the worst, are they not? I…

Pencak Silat to Appear in The Force Awakens?

If you’ve seen The Raid, The Raid 2, or Merantau Warrior, you’ve seen Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian display their impressive martial arts skills. And while there’s been a lot of noise around the fact that Simon Pegg could show up in The Force Awakens, not nearly enough people are excited about Uwais and Ruhian. Along with Cecep Arif Rahman, another practitioner of the Indonesian martial art known as Pencak Silat, these two have been announced as “performing fight work” in the upcoming installation of Star Wars. Exactly what this means isn’t clear—whether they’ll actually be featured in the film, if they’ll be serving as stunt performers, or if they’ll be involved in fight choreography (Uwais was the lead fight choreographer behind the amazing fight scenes in The Raid 2) is unknown. No matter how they’re involved, it seems likely that the influence of Silat could be seen in the fight scenes of The Force Awakens. While Merantau Warrior didn’t get…

Star Wars Rebels, the animated series

Rebel Intel Officer by The First Angel, DeviantArt   The animators of Star Wars: Clone Wars are back with a brand new project, Star Wars Rebels, to air Fall of 2014!!! Like most of us, I was pretty upset about the Disney cancellation of the final 6th season of Star Wars Clones Wars especially since I knew it was already in production wondering how many episodes were ready to be released but will never see the light of day. After all, it is the true ending of that story, which will now never be told. At the end of season 5, an anti-war element was being introduced into the story which excited me immensely being that I was a real life anti-war activist myself, not just a Star Wars fan and a fan of Joseph Campbell. From the moment Bush Jr dropped his first bombs, I was at the very…
