New skins are here for Star Wars Battlefront II in the new update and this includes skins for Darth Maul and Palpatine. Star Wars Battlefront II Update Delayed by Coronavirus Pandemic
The coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe is impacting every industry, and the gaming industry is no exception. The popular Star Wars Battlefront II was set to receive a pretty big update this past week. The anticipated Battle of Scarif Update (free) would be adding a lot of new content for players to consume. It was expected to add the planet Scarif to Supremacy and other game modes. It also brought Original Trilogy content to Supremacy. However, this major update has since been delayed. To prevent the spread of the virus and keep people safe, employees from industries all over the globe are laid off or transitioned to working from home. Star Wars Battlefront Franchise Sales Exceed 33 Million Copies
Despite going through a rough period of consumer upset over including microtransactions (loot boxes, to be specific), Electronic Arts’ Star Wars: Battlefront franchise has performed quite well. On a quarterly earnings call, EA announced that the combined sales of Star Wars Battlefront and its sequel are now over 33 million. The first Battlefront title, released in late 2015 and developed by DICE was a reboot of the shooter series released on PC, Mac, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. The sequel, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which came out in November of 2017, released with a campaign mode in addition to multiplayer gameplay. Numerous DLC expansions were released for both titles as well as regular updates to each game. Star Wars Battlefront II – Oct 30th Patch – Release Notes
DICE have a small patch arriving this week which aims to address several issues that appeared after last week’s Another Night on Endor Update. The primary fix focuses around an issue that was causing consoles to run out of memory and subsequently result in a game crash. They also have a fix for an issue that was causing servers to crash while playing Co-Op.
