As for Yoda, I've read that Dagobah helped in preventing the Sith from sensing him, but why wouldn't Vader think of looking for Ben in Tattooine or at least sense that he or Luke was there? I'm sure there's an explanation, but I'm also sure it's an EU thing.

I appreciate any answers!

The explanation I always saw was that there were areas of "dark energy" on Tattooine and Dagobah that protected Ben, Luke, and Yoda from being sensed by Vader or Palpatine. Yoda tracked and fought a Sith on Dagobah many years ago, and his presence was still in the cave where Luke fought "Vader" in ESB (at least, that was the original story. It's probably been retconned in the EU by now). That dark presence balanced Yoda's light presence, making that part of the galaxy unremarkable to any Force sensitive people. Though it was never explained before the PT, I would assume that Anakin's slaughter of the Sand People in ROTC created a similar dark spot on Tattooine, enough to hide Luke and Ben. Plus, Vader had no reason to return to Tattooine, and it was remote enough to escape notice by the Empire.

It doesn't seem to be a beacon thing because Leia was force sensitive and had direct contact with Vader in the first one. Also, Tatooine is in the remote parts of the galaxy which probably helped. The real answer is plot holes
