Star Wars Episode VII Rumors

Posted by on Sep 21, 2013 in News, star wars news, Star Wars: Episode VII | 0 comments

Here we are with some more Star Wars VII rumors and the first good point to bring up is that the number of these rumors that are actually proven to be true are few and far between. However, since all we are doing is waiting for the movies to release anyway, what harm is there in following along with some potential rumors? First up we have a tidbit from Cinema Blend that Saoirse Ronan might be coming on for a “mystery role” in the film: Virtually none of the rumors about Star Wars: Episode VII have been confirmed, but a few have been repeated so many times they’re starting to feel more true, like buzz that the original cast will return or that a teenage girl will be among the main new characters. It’s that second rumor that seems most interesting on the heels of a new rumor from Latino Review, where they say Saoirse Ronan read for an unspecific part in Star Wars: Episode VII. And then The Guardian gives us another little rumor about Mark Hamill getting to the gym to shape up for his role in Star Wars Episode VII: Luke Skywalker actor will be ‘fighting fit’ to reprise iconic role in next chapter of the space saga, says Elm Street actor friend Mark Hamill is getting in shape to return to his role as Jedi knight Luke Skywalker in the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, according to his friend Robert Englund. The Nightmare on Elm Street actor, who is credited with inspiring Hamill to try out for the role in 1977’s Star Wars, said the new Skywalker would be fighting fit when director JJ Abrams begins shooting early next year in London. “They’ve got Mark in the gym,” said Englund, who played horror icon Freddie Krueger in multiple Nightmare on Elm Street films. “Because Mark’s coming back as Luke Skywalker. They’ve got him doing his sit-ups.” Hamill is now 61 years old- no longer a spring chicken so it makes sense that he might want to get back into fit shape before playing this infamous role as Luke Skywalker. Rumors also say that Carrie Fisher, 56, was told to get back into shape before returning as Princess Leia. And then Screencrush has some more info for us about the Saoirse Ronan rumor with some tidbits about Cumberbatch, too: The latest round of rumoring is that Saoirse Ronan is up for a role, and that — contrary to the denials — Benedict Cumberbatch is very much in the new trilogy. So there we have it- now to wait and see how things continue to unfold as we await the release of the first...

Star Wars Episode 7 Rumor Roundup

Posted by on Jun 21, 2013 in star wars, Star Wars: Episode VII | 0 comments

Well, we’re all waiting for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII and there is good news going around the rumor mill that says casting has begun. It’s great news because this  means we are one step closer to finally having the highly anticipated movies. It also means we can learn more about who is casted and speculate about the storyline while we wait. Bleeding Cool posted some info about the casting and Lucasfilm confirmed to Big Shiny Robot and TheForce.Net that it’s true. Here’s what they’re looking for so far: Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humour, fit. Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking. A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident. Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’t need to be particularly fit. A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit. Forty something male, fit, military type. Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit. And in addition to the casting calls, there was info from Abrams that Episode 7 will have a central love story. Of course, this is to be expected. He doesn’t specifically say it’s a romantic love story and if you think about it, every good movie plot has some type of love story in it. Apparently he made these comments to a French newspaper but since I don’t speak French, I cannot say for certain that some of it was not lost in translation. There is a write up in Contact Music that tells us a little more. You can also find the story at Metro Newsand. Stay tuned from more Rumor Roundup as we learn about Star Wars Episode 7 production and...

Writing Star Wars w/ Michael Arndt

Posted by on Apr 24, 2013 in funny, Star Wars: Episode VII, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Michael Arndt was announced as the screenwriter for “Star Wars: Episode VII” back in November 2012, so what has he been doing since then? According to a hilarious new Funny or Die video of his alleged first day writing the upcoming movie’s screenplay, he’s been having a whole lot of writer’s block. Of course, this is all a joke, but Arndt does have some priceless terrible lines to show off here. From “Sir, we’ve identified the nerf herder. He has a herd of nerfs” to “‘Yoda’s alive! How?’ Explain later, I will,” Arndt’s fake lack of inspiration is a pleasure to watch. The video has become increasingly popular since it was released, and hopefully it will lead to more Funny or Die “Star Wars” videos going forward. It is the first time Arndt has commented in a big way on his involvement in “Episode VII,” even if the clip does just show him trying (unsuccessfully) to use the Force and asking himself, “What did I say in the pitch?” Directed by J.J. Abrams, “Star Wars: Episode VII” is due out in 2015. Arndt has written treatments for the full sequel trilogy, with “Episodes VIII” and “IX” slated for release in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Disney also confirmed spinoff “Star Wars” movies will hit theaters in 2016 and 2018....

We’re all anxiously awaiting Star Wars: Episode 7 and with the news of Disney letting LucasArts staff go, we’re even more interested in what will happen with this new film series. So this is why we’re keeping up to date on all the hottest and greatest news about the new movie. This means a lot of talk about what Abrams will do with Episode 7 as well as what kind of records the film might set when it makes it to the big screen. Let’s take a look at what some others are saying about it. Den of Geek says: We seem to be in a bit of a limbo at the moment with regards Star Wars: Episode VII, with the thinking being that Lucasfilm will wait until JJ Abrams is fully finished on his new film, Star Trek Into Darkness, before making a full and formal announcement about the new movie. And The Motley Fool says: Only two films in history have ever grossed more than $2 billion at the worldwide box office, with director James Cameron responsible for both: Avatar and Titanic. He may have company come 2015, when J.J. Abrams unleashes the next episode in the Star Wars saga to a hungry audience. To be fair, it’s easy to speculate this early in the game. Yet all signs suggest that Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS  ) will put muscle and talent behind the franchise, which it spent $4 billion to acquire. There is a lot invested in these movies. There is a lot riding on the shoulders of Abrams, Disney and everyone else involved. Will the new film break records or break dreams? So what can we expect from Star Wars: Episode 7? What are you most looking forward...
