Advice To Those Thinking Of Raid Leading in SWTOR [Video]

I had my fair share of raid leading in World of Warcraft so by the time SWTOR came out, I was looking for an alternative MMORPG and of course, I loved the Star Wars theme but I wasn’t really looking to raid lead anymore. I know many of my friends were, even friends who had led raids in hardcore guilds in WoW but for me, I wanted a game where I could sit back and relax, soak in the new story and content, and not feel rushed for progression. There’s nothing wrong with raiding or leading, or progression. I was just at a point in my gaming life where I wanted something different. That said, there were and still are, people who love raid leading in SWTOR. If you’re thinking about becoming one of those people, mirta000 has some advice for you. It’s all compiled here in this video of about 11…

Putting a Freeze on Your SWTOR Account

What if you had an emergency and you knew you would not be able to play your SWTOR account for an extended period of time but you’d already paid for your subscription? That is exactly what happened to one player and Bioware stepped up to offer a solution. A user who goes by the name Dragoon- on Reddit tells the story of how his father passed away in October and knowing he needed time to deal with his grief and also help his mother and family, he called Bioware to see what they could do for it. He shared his tip-of-the-hat story for all to see: My dad died in the evening of the 20th Oct.. I played less than 2 hours KoftFE before I got the call. Since then I haven’t played Swtor anymore, mainly because I have to take care of my mom, do tons of paperwork and file it…

Things I learned while leveling my alts

This might not be rocket science, but here is a few tips and tricks I learned while leveling my alts. When you make an alt, you will probably look for ways to level without doing entire planets that you already did on your main. One of the biggest complaints about this game that I see is travel time. Companion quests, space missions, warzone daily quests, and flashpoint daily quests are attractive since you can get tons of EXP for basically doing little to anything at all and with 0 travel time. In fact, you can do all 4 of those things while being docked at the fleet. Mail to an alt on the same faction is instant, even if you’re sending items. Edit: you can send mail with items/credits to your cross faction alts [ Thanks snakedoctor and Thorden ] In normal mode flashpoints, the game seems to have a bias to drop items for the…

Things you wish you knew when starting out in SWTOR

This is just a helping hand for new players. It might also be usefull if you are a returning player, since most of this will be obvious. When doing group content tell people if it’s your first time. People will often expect you to know quite indirect paths to follow which avoids combat and will therefore run ahead. You’ll end up pulling, getting killed and (more often than not) wiping the group. Try to establish how quickly your group wants to do a flashpoint – people will start raging if you’re not pressing spacebar (to skip cutscenes) at the same rate as them. The default price you get when you put something on the GTN (auction house) is often ridiculous – I think the price it suggests for molecular stabilisers is 5% or less of the usual selling price. Similarly, the price you can get from selling to vendors is…

Tips for Getting the Most of Game Update 2.3

SWTOR Game Update 2.3 is now live. Titans of Industry is here and it’s time to say hello to the Czerka. If you spent any time on the test servers, you might already be somewhat familiar with this game update. But if you’re just jumping right into that new content, then you might want a few tips to help you get started with a bang. Get your group on- First, if you’re going to dive in and enjoy the new content, don’t be shy. Just like with other game updates, this new content will be easier, faster and more enjoyable in a group. The quests are not hard but just as always happens when new content releases, the areas are going to be super crowded with all the players trying to get things done. Grouping up will help you complete the quests, rather than fight over the zone space. Don’t…

Free to Play Tips and Tricks

Since many new players are joining the game with the free to play launch, they’re going to be looking for answers on how to play and enjoy the game. Seasoned vets of SWTOR know their way around things but what they may not know is how things have changed since the free to play model launched. Sometimes we also forget that the things that seem common to us may be confusing or unknown to a new player. We all were new once and it pays to take the time to help someone out. You never know who you might meet in one act of kindness and besides, we just think it’s good gaming karma. F2p players get only 5 self-revives total and once you run out, you will need to buy more from the store or rez at a med center. This is a good reason for f2p gamers to…

Tips for Stat Tracking in SWTOR

While we know that gaming is supposed to be all about having fun and accomplishing objectives, the reality is that in games like SWTOR, you are going to need to do a bit of legwork in regards to stat tracking. Whether you are tracking loot, affection, or gear, you are going to need to track stats. This is doubly important for raiders.  Here are a few stat tracking tricks and tips. Excel Offers More Functionality Over Notepad The two most popular forms of stat tracking are notepad and excel. Notepad is great for those of you that are not in guilds or those that don’t want to the headache of managing raids.
