SWTOR Basics – How to Install PTS and Copy Your Character

Installing PTS is usually a very simple tutorial, but it would take you hours. Depending on your internet connection and the BW servers’ condition, it will take you between a couple hours to many, many hours. The live game is ~25GB, the Game with PTS is ~52GB. If you have the game already installed, you can add PTS on top of it. At this moment it is not possible (possible, but not easy or recommended) to install PTS on a separate Drive or Partition. To install and access PTS, follow these steps (or check the video linked below): 1. Download the game client from swtor.com and install it 2. Log in to the client and install the Live game 3. From the button in the bottom left corner open the settings window and make PTS available 4. Wait for the client to download and install PTS 5. Every time when you open…

Star Wars: The Old Republic Pre-review from Gaming Age

Gaming Age takes a look at SWTOR for the first time and it’s safe to say that overall, their reviewer was thoroughly impressed with the game. They’ve taken the time to write up a nearly 1,000-word pre-review to explain what they think of it. This is a great “early impressions” type piece that we wanted to share with you. And if any of you have friends that still have not bought SWTOR, this is a great preview/review to send to them. The pre-review begins: “Star Wars: The Old Republic is the first MMO that could legitimately take the top spot away from the long-running champ of MMO’s, World of Warcraft.” And haven’t we heard this one before? While the haters and WoW fanboys may disagree, there are actually some really good reasons why this might be true. The reviewer at Gaming Age takes some time to tell us their opinions….

This means lots of Star Wars The Old Republic previews and impressions for us to enjoy from some of the biggest names in video game/ MMORPG media. When the news first came out, many game testers were confused about what this means and who was allowed to talk about the game. If you’re a game tester, you are still bound by the NDA. The press embargo only applies to a select group of media who already know who they are.  To clarify the confusion on press and the embargoes, Stephen Reid tweeted, “Simple rule on press embargoes: unless you’ve been told you’re under embargo, you’re a tester. Ergo, no, you can’t talk about the…
