Gamers petition for EA to finish Star Wars 1313

Gamers have started a petition on Change.org, in an attempt to influence Electronic Arts into resuming development on 1313 and eventually allow the game to see the light of day. After Disney acquired LucasArts in 2013, all employees were laid off and the company was shut down, thus cancelling all current projects. This included games such as Star Wars 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault. We are not sure how effective petitions like this is, but we do urge all our readers to sign it. Hopefully it will o influence Electronic Arts into resuming development on 1313 and eventually allow the game to see the light of day. You can sign the petition over at  Change.org Here’s the summary: At E3 2012 Lucasarts wowed us with a demo of Star Wars 1313.  Gamers around the world were blown away with 1313.  We could finally play a gritty dirty Star Wars game as a bounty hunter on Coruscant.  After Lucasarts was disbanded and the Star…

The 10 Greatest Star Wars Games of All-Time

If you had to pick your top 10 greatest Star Wars games of all time, what would make your list? There are many similar lists out there. I think I’ve even done one myself in the past. But I still enjoy seeing what games make others’ lists of top Star Wars games.   Sp this is why I am happy to bring you this story from Dorkly where they place SWTOR at the number three position. And this is what they had to say about it:   Star Wars Galaxies was the first real attempt at a Star Wars MMO – and it was…problematic. Buggy, complicated, not-that-fun (depending on who you asked), etc. It was supposed to be the chosen one – the one who would bring balance to the world of MMOs, then (and now) dominated by World of Warcraft. Sadly, it was not, and had its legs sliced…

EA is treating ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ like a new IP

It appears that Electronic Arts are treating their newly acquired Star Wars franchise as a new IP, along with 7 other titles. To combat criticism that the firm is not working on any more new games, they released a statement about these new IPs in the works. EA Games chief Patrick Soderlund told MCV that EA is working on new ideas that include Star Wars and Mirror’s Edge 2 as proof the firm is still willing to take risks on new ideas. As he says to MCV: “We are working on a new Mirror’s Edge game, and although that’s not a new IP, it is a revival done in a new way. We are developing Star Wars Battlefront, which to us is a new IP, even though it isn’t technically,” he said. “We have six to eight completely new IPs in the works. The day we stop making new…

Angry Birds Star Wars 2

Attention Angry Birds Star Wars fans: something new and awesome is coming in September! New stories, new levels, and new characters in Angry Birds Star Wars 2. Also introducing TELEPODS! You can get it September 19th. It will feature “over 30 playable characters.” But the biggest addition is something completely new- the TELEPODS. Apparently you can buy these little figures from the store and then choose which ones you want to play your game with and it will allow you to boost that in-life toy into the game. Engadget.com explains how it works: What is surprising is that the newest Angry Birds entry has a physical twist that we’ve yet to see from the brand: something called “telepods.” The Hasbro-created toy is a physical representation of an in-game character, and Rovio Entertainment’s VP of marketing Philip Hickey tells us it works by using a mobile phone or tablet’s built-in camera to read…

Will EA Announce a Continuation of Star Wars 1313 at E3?

Have you been waiting for a new Star Wars game like us? What do you think about news that Star Wars 1313 might be back in production? It’s just a rumor but some people suspect there might be a new life to the game after all. The Star Wars Underworld tells us about the rumor that EA could be announcing this at E3: Could Star Wars 1313 have new life?  After the shut down of LucasArts earlier this year it was believed that all Star Wars projects it had been working on had died with it, this may not be the case.  A leaked document containing a list of all the projects that will be announced during E3 has appeared on the Spanish website Area Jugones and on that list is Star Wars 1313 (sadly there is no mention of Battlefront 3).   Now remember, this is just a rumor and needs to be taken…

New LEGO Star Wars Game Free Download but Compatibility Issues

I was super excited when my son (yes, my 6 year old) told me about LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles and when I looked it up to find out it was free in the Play store, I was excited. The LEGO Group has released more than a dozen Android titles already but their first tie-in game is LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles. This might give us our Star Wars fix with a break from Angry Birds. I was all about it!
