When you think of Star Wars, do you think of gambling? Maybe not right off the bat, but for many of us who were raised on the original Star Wars, it was part of the story. Disney might be trying to water it down and remove mentions of things that might be “offensive” but that doesn’t mean it’s not still a big part of the original canon.
Cantinas and gambling and casino games arepart of Star Wars. This is a fact and Disney can’t take it away just because they want to try to pretty it up for a new market. The grittiness and rawness of it was one thing that made it so great. They take away the spirit of StarWars when they filter it down so much.
Disney removed all the Star Wars themedcasinos and slots out in the gambling scene since they took over the brand. You won’t see any more of these out in a casino near you (if you even live near enough to visit an actual casino) and it’s not likely you’ll find any online either, although some do still get away with putting them on their sites, even if just for a short time before Disney issues a take-down notice.
Instead, if you want to enjoy some fun slots and games, you’re probably going to have to skip the Star Wars theme. Don’t worry though. There are some great places for you to play a real online casino. For me, it’s all about the variety and this site gives you a lot of choices. That is definitely something I can appreciate.
We’re probably not going to see casinos in our Star Wars games anymore either, although there was a brief Space-Vegas-liketheme in one of the new movies. For the most part, they are trying to keep it all PG and apparently gambling doesn’t fit the bill. I’m not sure what the big deal is, but I don’t make the decisions at Disney so here we are.
Instead, take some time to research and enjoy a great online casino and appreciate the games that are available to you. If you want to get your Star Wars fix, you can just log back into SWTOR or your favorite old school Star Wars game. But you’ll need to get your online gamblingelsewhere, my friends.
